In the town Hawkins, Indiana, a 12 year old boy vanishes in mysterious ways. This causes his mother and friends to investigate this vanishing, but the mystery turns out to be a lot deeper than they thought. Subsequently they begin to uncover a conspiracy by the government and they encounter a girl with psychocinetic powers that helps them to discover the whereabouts of their missing friend.
