The Golden Snitch is a golden ball the size of a large walnut with wings that flutters around very quickly. This ball is used in Quidditch, the game played by Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts, the school for wizards. By catching this ball a team can win the match. Also, a Quidditch match only ends when this ball has been caught. Each team has a Seeker for this purpose, a player who continuously flies after the ball to catch it.
