This figurine of Tintin's arch enemy Rastapopoulos is part of a series of beautiful statuettes, designed and manufactured with a keen attention to the original detail in Hergé's drawings.
Roberto Rastapopoulos, an obviously very rich, internationally active criminal, who also calls himself Marquis di Gorgonzola in one of the albums is Tintins arch enemy. Although a seemingly harmless movie producer when his and Tintin's paths cross for the first time it soon becomes apparent that this is just a cover for his activities as lord of the international drug trade. His activities also include human trafficking, arms dealing, kidnapping and extortion which he employs with the assistance of various shady characters, such as Allan Thompson, the former First Office of Captain Haddock.
Rastapopoulos is the cliche of the gangster boss presume dead, only to resurface later to the surprise of everyone. He makes his appearence in Cigars of the Pharaoh, The Blue Lotus, Cokes in Stock, Flight 714 to Sydney and finally also in the movie Tintin and the Lake of Sharks. The secret whether the magician Endaddin Akass from Tintin and the Alpha-Art turns out in the end as being Rastapopoulos as well, was taken to his grave by Hergé. The body and nose volume of the magician however, as well as Tintins remark that his voice seems familiar, are indications that this might very well be so.
