Studio Ghibli was founded in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki & Isao Takahata. All three were already working in the Japanese anime movie industry. Pretty soon they produced Movies that are now among the absolute classics of anime movies, such as My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service or Howl’s Moving Castle. Later more movies were made, like for example Porco Rosso, Prinses Mononoke and the very succesful Spirited Away.
The success was so big that on 1st November 2022 they even opende their OWN amusement park: Ghibli Park.
Now the heroes from these anime movies are so popular that lot’s of merchandise is available: Mugs, notebooks, towels, teapots, you name it.
